Amazon said no to nudeartzine!
On January 17th, after almost two years we started this project (!), we received an email from Amazon stating that:
“
During our review process, we found that the cover image is in violation of our content guidelines. Our content guidelines apply to the book interior, as well as cover image, title and/or product descriptions. As a result, we cannot offer this book for sale.”.
Their content guidelines states:
“We don’t sell certain content including content that we determine is hate speech, promotes the abuse or sexual exploitation of children, contains pornography, glorifies rape or pedophilia, advocates terrorism, or other material we deem inappropriate or offensive.”
.
So – after two years! – either we fall in the “pornography” category (and we think this is not the case) or our material is now considered inappropriate or offensive!
The email continues threatening that:
“
If we identify additional submissions with similar content that violates our guidelines you may lose access to optional KDP services and/or face account level actions up to and including termination.”.
As we use our KDP account to publish also non-nude material, we do not want to take the risk to get it closed – at least not until we find a less limiting partner.
So, it is time for us to find an alternative way to publish the nudeartzine material.

We want to thank all the contributors that submitted their images making this project alive. It will take some time to find a new way to publish your material and we are already brainstorming on this...
This is the second time a big company is trying to limit our freedom to share nude art. This is only another “challenge” for us, from this ridiculous behavior we are positive that we will learn something new.
We don’t give up, do you?
