Where are you born and when?
I was born in Brest, in France, in 1966
Where do you live?
I share my time between Paris and Paimpol, a very small town in North Brittany, where I have my photo studio.
When and how do you start your path in photography?
I started very early, but I became professional photographer a few years ago.
Who were the three photographers that inspired you at the beginning and who are the three ones that inspire you now?
Please add links to the pages where the images are shown.
Bourdin, Sieff, Newton. But I could say many more, like Lagrange, Les Krims, Le Turk... People have such an imagination...
Did you go to a school or are you a self-taught?
Mainly self-taught, but I take courses for post production.
Do you make photography as a living?
Yes, sure, but I don’t feel like I’m working, it’s a passion.
What do you like in photography, what is your motivation?
I enjoy every step : casting, finding new places, shooting, post production, show and... selling! I work mainly alone with the model, and sometimes with one assistant maximum. Nude photo needs privacy...
What do you want to express or arouse in those who watch your images?
I just want to show a kind of beauty. Nothing else. I mean, everybody will find something different, linked to her own life’s experience...
What are your preferred moment(s) in the creation process?
The shooting I guess, the first meeting with a new model... It can be fabulous...or a disaster!!
What are your three most representative images, and why?
Please add links to the pages where the images are shown.
Oh, I like them all! please take a look at my web site ifig.fr, were you can see a small part of my production, but I had new ones regularly...
What equipment and/or techniques do you use?
It is not a matter of brands/lenses, it is mostly about analog/digital, preferred light (natural/flash), how much post-production, etc.
I use mostly digital medium format, and I mix natural light and flashes, or continuous LED lights. I enjoy doing myself post production and paper prints.
How and why your work as changed since you started?
Well, I started such a long time ago with analog, but for me it doesn’t t change so much the way I work, even post production. My style has probably moved to something mo directly linked to sex, as I canceled convolutions around...
What do you think about the fact that nowadays photography is mostly enjoyed on the Internet?
Obviously the best way to be well known, but I enjoy so much exhibitions and paper prints. I like to meet collectors...
Why did you decide to join the nudeartzine project?
I’m interested every time we are talking about printing. So much nicer than a screen. I think it can be interesting to be in a collective book.
Would you have an insight or advice to give to whomever is watching your work and wants to learn photography?
My advice is : don’t ask for advice, trust you, do your own way!
What are your plans in the future?
Shooting girls having something to say!
On what page our readers can find more of your work?
On my web site ifig.fr, on flickr, and meeting me, [email protected]
Would you like to add something else?
Just thanks to nudeartmagazine, a very new experience for me!
